Obiettivo del piano è l’implementazione di strategie e tecniche di coltivazione innovative, a basso impatto ambientale ed economicamente sostenibili che portino ad una riduzione degli apporti di inquinanti provenienti dai mezzi tecnici impiegati per la difesa e la nutrizione nel settore dell’orticoltura da consumo fresco ed industriale dell’Emilia-Romagna.

Objective of the project (in English):

The aim of the project is the implementation of innovative, low environmental impact and economically sustainable cultivation strategies and techniques that lead to a reduction in the contribution of pollutants from the product used for plant protection and nutrition in the horticulture sector of Emilia-Romagna.

Description of activities (native language):

Verranno sviluppate 4 azioni:
1. Messa a punto di strategie di difesa a basso impatto ambientale verso le principali avversità;
2. Messa a punto di strategie di fertilizzazione alternative all’impiego di concimi minerali azotati attraverso l’uso di compost;
3. Messa a punto di strategie di biofumigazione e fertilizzazione attraverso l’impiego di sovesci;
4.Valutazione sulla sostenibilità economica ed ambientale delle strategie innovative proposte e implementazione di attività finalizzate alla sostenibilità sociale.

Description of activities (in English):

Four actions will be developed:
1. Development of low environmental impact plant protection strategies against major adversities;
2. Development of alternative fertilization strategies to the use of nitrogenous mineral fertilizers through the use of compost;
3. Development of biofumigation and fertilization strategies through the use of green manures;
4.Evaluation of the innovative strategies proposed on the economic and environmental sustainability and implementation of activities aimed at social sustainability.

The expected results concern the validation of the proposed strategies that will allow their implementation in technical lines with low environmental impact for the plant protection and nutrition of vegetable crops.
1. Database on the efficacy of the products under test and validation of their inclusion in technical lines with low environmental impact for the direct plant protection of horticultural crops; identification of alternative products of 1-3 dichloropropene in the containment of root-knot nematodes; validation of the use of mycorrhizae as enhancers of the plant protection and identification of the most resistant and tolerant rootstocks to the pathologies being tested;
2. Validation of the use of compost deriving from composting of urban waste as an alternative to the use of mineral nitrogen fertilizers in intensive horticulture and analysis of the physical and biological improvement of the soil that can be obtained from this;
3. Validation of the use of biocidal green manures as effective technical means for the containment of root-knot nematodes and their possible integration with other plant protection practices in a technical line that allows the exclusion of 1-3 dichloropropene and verification of the maintenance of physical quality and biological soil; validation of the use of green manure mixtures as an alternative to mineral fertilization;
4. Demonstration of the economic and environmental sustainability of the proposed techniques.

I risultati attesi riguardano la validazione delle strategie proposte che ne permetterà l’implementazione in linee tecniche a basso impatto ambientale per la difesa e la nutrizione delle coltivazioni ortive.
1. Banca dati sull’efficacia dei prodotti in prova e validazione del loro inserimento in linee tecniche a basso impatto ambientale per la difesa diretta delle colture orticole; individuazione di prodotti alternativi all’impiego dell’1-3 dicloropropene nel contenimento dei nematodi galligeni; validazione dell’impiego delle micorrize come potenziatori delle difese della pianta ed individuazione dei portinnesti maggiormente resistenti e tolleranti alle patologie oggetto di prova;
2. Validazione dell’impiego di compost derivante da compostaggio di rifiuto urbano in alternativa all’impiego di concimi azotati minerali in una orticoltura intensiva e analisi sul miglioramento fisico e biologico del terreno che da questo si può ottenere;
3. Validazione dell’impiego di sovesci biocidi come mezzi tecnici efficaci per il contenimento dei nematodi galligeni e loro possibile integrazione con altre pratiche di difesa in una linea tecnica che permetta l’esclusione dell’1-3 dicloropropene e verifica sul mantenimento della qualità fisica e biologica del suolo; validazione dell’impiego di miscugli di sovesci come alternativa alla fertilizzazione minerale;
4. Dimostrazione della sostenibilità economica ed ambientale delle tecniche proposte.
